Job Title : Senior Field Service Technician (Red Seal Certified – Electrical)

Reports To : Field Service Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Field Service Technician who is Red Seal Certified in Electrical to join our team in Canada. This role plays a critical part in supporting customers across industrial environments with expertise in conveyors, motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and industrial automation systems. The ideal candidate is a self-driven professional with strong troubleshooting abilities and a deep understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Troubleshoot and repair equipment and systems within the product line, including automation, motion, and material handling equipment.
  2. Perform installations, calibrations, upgrades, and preventive maintenance of industrial equipment and systems across client sites.
  3. Ensure customer uptime by responding quickly and effectively to service calls and completing preventive maintenance (PM) tasks on schedule.
  4. Configure, program, and test systems prior to deployment to ensure compliance with customer requirements and performance standards.
  5. Provide technical consultation and application support to customers and internal sales teams for effective system integration and operation.
  6. Address and resolve first-line customer complaints, including system issues and invoicing discrepancies, maintaining high customer satisfaction.
  7. Maintain accurate documentation of service visits, repairs, and installations in compliance with company standards.
  8. Ensure company service vehicle is properly maintained, safe, and ready for daily use.

Qualifications

  • Red Seal Certification in Electrical (mandatory – Canada).
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in field service or industrial maintenance with a focus on:
  • PLC control systems and industrial automation and integration.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals.

Solid troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, and control systems.

Familiarity with safety regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and electrical codes.

Strong organizational and communication skills, ability to work independently and in a team.

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Ability to travel within Canada and occasionally to other regions.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in manufacturing, logistics, or food processing environments.
  • Knowledge of industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.).
  • Basic programming skills for PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Schneider.
  • Customer service or client-facing experience.
