Heartland Mutual Insurance has an excellent opportunity in our Underwriting Department for a Senior Farm Underwriter.

• Farm Underwriting portfolio management – assessing and evaluating risks, and providing high quality Underwriting decisions.
• Underwrite and negotiate high risk and high complexity renewals, policy endorsements and new business.
• Working within Heartland’s Underwriting standards, negotiating terms and conditions of risk acceptance with brokers.
• Use front-line knowledge of the Farm marketplace to help develop, or make changes to, products, pricing, and services in support of Heartland’s strategy.
• Provide Underwriting support and exemplary customer service through developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
• Ensure corporate governance and regulatory compliance with policies and procedures.
• Ensure day-to-day Underwriting practices conform to legal, regulatory, compliance, and privacy obligations.
• Provide guidance and training to junior Underwriting staff to ensure cohesion and compliance throughout the Farm Underwriting team.
