Legal Talent Strategist @ gpac | Empowering Law Firms with High-Impact Placements - Canada (BC) and U.S.

Senior Associate - Family Law (8+ Years' Experience)

Location: Downtown Vancouver | Full-Time | Hybrid Options Available

A respected and well-established litigation boutique located in downtown Vancouver is seeking a Senior Associate to join its growing Family Law group. With over three decades of excellence in advocacy and client service, the firm offers a collaborative, high-performing environment where senior practitioners are empowered to lead and grow their practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior family lawyer who thrives in a dynamic, client-focused setting. While a portable book of business is an asset, it is not a requirement for consideration. The successful candidate will work on a broad range of complex family matters, including parenting, support, asset division, and agreements, and must demonstrate a high level of professionalism, independence, and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in family law proceedings including mediations, chambers, and trials.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide array of family law documents and agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and deliver clear, strategic legal advice.
  • Manage a varied caseload independently from intake through resolution.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on strategy, mentorship, and team support.
  • Maintain strong client relationships with a commitment to responsiveness and results.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent from a recognized law school.
  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience practicing family law.
  • Proven family law litigation experience and strong courtroom advocacy skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • A client-focused approach grounded in empathy, integrity, and discretion.

Compensation

The firm offers flexible and competitive compensation options, including a salary or fee-split model, tailored to align with the candidate's experience, goals, and business development preferences. Partner-level may be considered for high caliber candidates. Hybrid working arrangements are also available.

Application Process: To apply, please submit transcripts and resume by email, confidentially to shannon.flower@gogpac.com or call 986-999-4419.

Only those shortlisted for an interview will be contacted.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.
