Senior Associate - Family Law (8+ Years' Experience)

Location : Downtown Vancouver | Full-Time | Hybrid Options Available

A respected and well-established litigation boutique located in downtown Vancouver is seeking a Senior Associate to join its growing Family Law group . With over three decades of excellence in advocacy and client service, the firm offers a collaborative, high-performing environment where senior practitioners are empowered to lead and grow their practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior family lawyer who thrives in a dynamic, client-focused setting. While a portable book of business is an asset, it is not a requirement for consideration. The successful candidate will work on a broad range of complex family matters, including parenting, support, asset division, and agreements, and must demonstrate a high level of professionalism, independence, and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in family law proceedings including mediations, chambers, and trials.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide array of family law documents and agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and deliver clear, strategic legal advice.
  • Manage a varied caseload independently from intake through resolution.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on strategy, mentorship, and team support.
  • Maintain strong client relationships with a commitment to responsiveness and results.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent from a recognized law school.
  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience practicing family law.
  • Proven family law litigation experience and strong courtroom advocacy skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • A client-focused approach grounded in empathy, integrity, and discretion.
  • Compensation

    The firm offers flexible and competitive compensation options , including a salary or fee-split model, tailored to align with the candidate's experience, goals, and business development preferences. Partner-level may be considered for high caliber candidates. Hybrid working arrangements are also available.
