Position: Senior Family Lawyer

Location: Whitby, ON

Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 per year (depending on experience)

Industry: Lawyer / Family / Legal / Law Firm

Employment Term: Full-time / Permanent / Hybrid (3 days in-office per week)

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, spousal support, property division, and adoption.
• Provide legal counsel and advice to clients regarding their family law issues.
• Draft legal documents such as separation agreements, prenuptial agreements, and court applications.
• Appear in court for hearings, trials, and mediation sessions.
• Conduct negotiations and settlements on behalf of clients.
• Stay current on family law legislation and legal precedents.
• Collaborate with other legal professionals within the firm on larger cases.
• Performs all other duties.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in law
• Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
• 8+ years of experience practicing family law.
• Strong knowledge of Ontario family law rules, processes, and legislation.
• Excellent advocacy, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and work efficiently under pressure.
• Strong client relationship skills with a focus on empathy.
