A leading company is seeking a Facilities Technician in Edmonton. This role involves maintaining HVAC and A/C systems, managing water treatment, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience and strong technical skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities and relevant certifications are highly desirable.
Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HVAC and A / C systems.
Maintain and monitor fire suppression systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Manage and oversee water treatment and purification equipment to ensure quality standards are met.
Configure and monitor the automated computerized building management system to optimize system performance.
Document maintenance activities and write detailed reports outlining findings and actions taken.
Manage outside contractors for repairs, HVAC balancing, and HEPA filter testing, ensuring quality and compliance with standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to building systems, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
Collaborate with management and other team members to develop and implement maintenance strategies.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and system performance.
Respond to facility-related emergencies and perform corrective actions as needed.
Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years of experience as a facilities technician in a commercial environment.
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, A / C systems, fire suppression systems, and water treatment equipment.
Experience managing outside contractors and coordinating maintenance activities.
Familiarity with building management systems and automation technologies.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
Ability to document activities clearly and write comprehensive reports.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Relevant certifications or licenses are a plus (e.g., HVAC certification, fire safety certification).
