About the Role:

As a CBRE Sr. Facilities Manager, you will manage a team responsible for overseeing building operations and maintenance for a facility, campus, or portfolio of small to medium sized buildings.

This job is part of the Facilities Management area, focusing on managing shift engineers, daily operations, retail areas, parkade, and common areas. Responsibilities include visual inspection of mechanical and electrical systems, chemical water analysis, HVAC, ensuring standards are met, and supporting clients, tenants, and property managers with repairs and investment plans.

What You’ll Do:

  • Ensure environmental conditions are maintained at optimal comfort levels during lease hours and respond promptly to tenant requests.
  • Review and adjust operating schedules for HVAC, security, and lighting to maintain tenant satisfaction and energy efficiency.
  • Schedule and supervise engineering staff, assign work, determine repairs, provide training, and maintain records.
  • Implement preventive maintenance programs to prolong equipment life and minimize repairs.
  • Conduct building tours to inspect safety, mechanical, and electrical equipment, and monitor maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies, fixtures, parts, and tools, and order replacements as needed.
  • Keep records of equipment, manuals, and building plans.
  • Maintain water chemical treatment programs as per client requirements.
  • Manage outside service contractors, ensuring compliance with building rules and regulations.
  • Oversee engineers and subcontractors for building upgrades and repairs, providing regular status reports.
  • Assist in budgeting, expense management, and capital improvements.
  • Promote safety, ownership, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Coordinate with departments, tenants, and maintenance staff.
  • Inspect equipment and perform repairs and maintenance of building systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and building codes, participate in safety programs.
  • Assist in procurement and planning of future projects.
  • Participate in after-hours emergency response and work a shift rotation, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

What You’ll Need:

  • 4th Class Power Engineer certification
  • Trade background is an asset
  • 5-7 years’ experience as a Chief Building Engineer in a high-rise mixed-use building
  • Strong understanding of mechanical maintenance and operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with DDC systems, ESC, Delta products
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
  • Hands-on mechanical skills and ability to work with power tools
  • Effective communication skills in English
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship
