We seek excellent students, faculty, and staff to join us in what has become known as the “Western Experience” — an opportunity to contribute to a better world through the development of new knowledge, new abilities, new connections, and new ways to make a difference.

Human Resources’ mission is to add value by developing proactive human resource strategies and delivering exemplary employment related services. As a team of innovative professionals, we encourage a productive and respectful work and learning environment through collaboration, partnership, and technology.

The role you'll play

As a dynamic and accomplished leader, you have a proven track record in guiding teams and coaching others to success. Your experience shines through both in leadership roles and as a trusted leadership coach or senior Human Resources consultant. With a deep passion for collaboration, personal development, and empowering others to reach their full potential, you thrive in helping individuals and organizations achieve their goals.

In the role of Senior Facilitator, Leadership Development you will work closely with Western’s academic and administrative leaders, providing expert coaching and facilitating transformative learning experiences. Your responsibilities will include designing and leading (or co-leading) impactful leadership workshops, team development sessions, and organization-wide leadership initiatives. You will offer specialized guidance in areas such as effective feedback and communication, building stronger team relationships, fostering inclusion, leading change, enhancing employee engagement, and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation across the organization.

Your ability to understand client needs and provide thoughtful, actionable advice is exceptional, underpinned by your strong emotional intelligence and sound judgment. You bring innovative design, outstanding presentation, and group facilitation skills. Your proven track record in leading projects from conception through to successful implementation will ensure each initiative is thoughtfully executed and aligned with Western’s mission and goals.

Our ideal candidate...

To excel in this role, you bring a strong educational foundation and extensive experience in organizational development. A Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Behaviour, Business, Education, Leadership, or a related field is essential, providing you with the theoretical framework to navigate complex organizational dynamics. A CHRL certification and any additional certifications in tools such as personality assessments, engagement surveys, or 360-degree feedback further enhance your qualifications, positioning you as an expert in your field. Moreover, certifications in adult education, coaching, facilitation, instructional design, or online learning add depth to your expertise, empowering you to deliver high-quality learning experiences that drive impactful change.

With over seven years of experience as an organizational development facilitator and consultant, you’ve excelled in advising and guiding leaders through leadership and team challenges. Your expertise spans designing and leading tailored development initiatives in large, complex environments, focusing on areas like conflict resolution, communication, and change management. Your ability to create engaging learning interventions and measure employee engagement has made a lasting impact on the teams you’ve worked with.

You’re well-versed in needs assessments, facilitation techniques, and adult learning principles, using these skills to design effective learning experiences in both in-person and virtual formats. Your knowledge of conflict management and handling sensitive information ensures you can navigate challenging situations with ease and professionalism. Familiarity with University policies and procedures is a plus, adding an additional layer of expertise as you guide academic leaders toward success.
