Job summary

Google's XR team in Waterloo, Ontario seeks a Senior Software Developer specializing in Eye Tracking Algorithms to drive AI-enabled, lightweight XR devices. You will own end-to-end algorithm development from research to production, advancing eye-tracking accuracy on constrained hardware.

You'll lead cross-functional efforts with hardware and research teams, mentor teammates, and contribute to documentation and software standards while delivering robust, production-grade software in a fast-paced

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience developing software in C++ and Python, optimizing for resource-constrained, low-power devices.
Experience in algorithm research and translating prototypes into production-grade software.
Background in linear algebra, signal processing, or machine learning (preferred).
Experience with eye-tracking systems, geometric algorithms, or sensor calibration (preferred).
Data analysis tools and visualization dashboards to support evaluation (preferred).

Responsibilities

Research and prototype new algorithmic and machine learning approaches to improve eye tracking accuracy.
Develop scalable, efficient algorithms for low-power environments.
Collaborate with hardware and research teams on production-ready software.
Provide technical leadership and define software standards and documentation.
Support cross-functional teams with hardware integration and testing.
