Job description

Number of Positions: 1, Duration: 6 months initial contract

Location: Markham, ON, CA

Must be eligible to work in Canada

Work Schedule: 3 days onsite in Markham, 7 hours per day (non-negotiable)

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into finance systems.
2. Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures in PostgreSQL.
3. Monitor daily/monthly jobs and resolve failures as needed.
4. Collaborate with finance and insurance teams to understand data requirements and ensure data integrity and accuracy.
5. Build ad hoc reports based on business requirements.
6. Perform data analysis and troubleshooting to resolve data-related issues.
7. Implement data quality checks and validation processes.
8. Build complex finance calculations using Postgres stored procedures or ETL processes.
9. Monitor and improve the performance of ETL processes and database systems.
10. Document technical specifications and maintain comprehensive documentation of ETL processes.
11. Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in ETL and database management.

Maur have skills/experience/qualifications:

• Proven experience as an ETL Developer (Informatica PowerCenter 10.5.7 and Informatica BDM).
• Proven experience as a Database Developer, with hands-on experience in writing DDLs and DMLs for relational databases.
• Experience in writing complex SQL queries for ad hoc reporting.
• Experience in the insurance industry and understanding underwriting data terminology.
• Supporting finance systems experience.
• Experience with automation tools like Control-M, ASG ZENA, and Unix scripting.
• Experience with reporting tools such as SAP Business Objects and Qlik.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with Agile methodology and JIRA.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to draft and understand business requirement documents.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Informatica Certified Professional (ICP) and/or Informatica Foundation Level Certifications.
• Experience with database systems like Oracle, Postgres, MySQL; SQL Associate Certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Qlik, Python, Power BI, SAP BO.
