Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Estimator for Rail Infrastructure and Civil Engineering in Canada. You will develop strategic, competitive cost estimates for rail and civil projects and work with multidisciplinary teams to support large-scale initiatives with innovation, rigor and performance.

The role requires 8+ years of estimating experience in rail infrastructure and heavy civil construction, plus strong knowledge of railway systems and track construction methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 8+ years of estimating experience in rail infrastructure and heavy civil construction.
• Strong knowledge of railway systems and track construction methods.
• Deep understanding of civil works and infrastructure construction practices; ability to analyze and interpret complex technical data.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed construction cost estimates for rail and civil projects.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and technical documents to ensure accuracy of evaluations.
• Perform quantity take-offs from plans and BIM models.
• Develop unit costs for labor, equipment, and materials.
• Analyze historical data and conduct market benchmarking.
• Collaborate with internal teams and partners to optimize bid strategies.
• Actively contribute to the preparation of proposals for large-scale projects.

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range of $93 800- $129000. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
