Job summary

Soletanche Bachy Canada is seeking a Senior Estimator – Major Projects in Hamilton, Ontario to lead large tender pursuits across Canada. You’ll own the pursuit from pricing and strategy to risk management and stakeholder collaboration, with senior leadership exposure.

You will guide a team of estimators, participate in client meetings, and ensure a strong handover to construction teams when awarded. The role requires travel across Canada and a solid background in geotechnical construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 10+ years of estimating or construction experience in deep foundations, ground improvement, excavation support, tunnelling, or geotechnical construction.
• Proven track record leading large, complex tender pursuits from start to submission.
• Experience with delivery models such as design-bid-build, design-build and progressive or collaborative contracts.
• Strong commercial judgment and a structured approach to risk.

Responsibilities

• Lead major project tender pursuits and manage stakeholder involvement.
• Oversee cost estimation, commercial evaluation and execution of major tender submissions.
• Develop bid strategy with engineering, operations and leadership.
• Review tender documents to identify scope gaps and commercial exposure.
• Prepare high-level summaries and presentations for senior management.
• Mentor estimators and coordinators on the Major Projects team.
• Attend client meetings, site visits and pre-bid meetings.
• Lead project handover to construction and delivery teams.
• Actively participate in Health and Safety programs.
