Responsibilities
Preconstruction Leadership
- Lead the preparation of accurate, detailed estimates and tenders for heavy civil and underground projects.
- Review drawings and specifications to determine scope, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop bid strategies and make recommendations to ownership on go/no-go decisions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subtrades, and suppliers.
Estimating & Project Coordination
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs, cost analyses, and digital terrain modeling.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations, ensuring scope coverage and competitiveness.
- Oversee preparation of construction schedules, budgets, and cash flow projections.
- Support transition from tender to construction by collaborating with project managers, field managers, and foremen.
- Lead change order pricing, risk assessments, and value engineering exercises.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7+ years of experience estimating and/or managing civil construction projects.
- Proven expertise in heavy civil, underground works, and site development projects.
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Advanced ability to read, interpret, and analyze construction drawings.
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Professional presence with strong client-facing skills.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with specialized estimating software (Heavy Bid an asset).
- Digital terrain modeling software proficiency.
- Knowledge of provincial and municipal design standards (e.g., OPSDs).
- Previous mentorship or leadership experience within an estimating team.

Pay: $110,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
