Ram River Environmental Consultants Ltd. (RREC) is a professional environmental consulting company established in 2006 that continues to grow and evolve within the complex environmental industry. RREC has over 75 professionals providing reclamation program management and project supervision for upstream oil and gas clients in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

RREC is currently seeking a Senior Environmental Specialistbased out of either our Rocky Mountain House or Vermilion office with the option to work remotely for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide final technical review and professional sign-off of Alberta and/or Saskatchewan Phase 1 and 2 Environmental Site Assessments (ESA), Remediation Assessments, Detailed Site Assessments (DSA), Reclamation Certificate Applications (RCA) and Acknowledgement of Reclamation Applications (AOR)
• Maintain professional accreditation and good standing with the regulated professional body.
• Mentor and coach junior and intermediate staff.
• Work with senior leadership team to establish and maintain positive and effective client relationships.
• Promote and maintain a positive work environment through a culture of teamwork and cooperation within the organization.
• Ensure reporting and template integrity across company.
• Track costs on active projects.
• Coordinate completion of client reporting requirements and ensure that final reports are accurate, on time, and within budget.
• Adhere and promote safety and quality standards and ensure they are maintained or exceeded.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, directives, and SOP's.
• Remain current with environmental legislation, best practices, and regulatory updates; and provide updated information as it becomes available to staff.
• Attend industry training and conferences and provide updated information as it becomes available to staff.

Qualifications:

• 5-10 years of consulting experience related to remediation, reclamation, or environmental science.
• Experience with the Alberta Tier 1 and 2 Soil and Groundwater Remediation Guidelines and 2010 Reclamation Criteria for Wellsites and Associated Facilities.
• Extensive understanding of public land dispositions is considered an asset.
• Experience with Directive PNG033 and Saskatchewan Environmental Quality Guidelines.
• Good understanding of upstream oil and gas regulatory requirements in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
• Understanding of the Subsoil Salinity Tool (SST) or SST certification is considered an asset.
• Technical diploma or University degree in environmental science or related discipline.
• Sign-off capabilities and a member in good standing with a professional regulatory organization whose scopes of practice include land reclamation (DSA's) and remediation (Phase 1 and 2 ESAs and Remediation Assessments)
• Excellent communication, writing, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
• Highly organized and can prioritize multiple tasks.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and database entry.
• Willingness to work within a team environment.
