Senior Environmental Scientist or Engineer (Contaminated Sites) – Halifax or Fredericton

Who are we looking for?

We are currently seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist or Engineer to join our Contaminated Site Assessment and Remediation (CAR) Teams in our Atlantic Canada offices in Bedford, NS, or Fredericton, NB.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and overseeing environmental sampling and analysis work plans;
  • Conducting environmental risk assessments and implementing health, safety, and environmental protocols;
  • Supervising complex Phase I to IV Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs);
  • Performing senior review and ensuring regulatory compliance;
  • Preparing technical reports and proposals for regulatory authorities;
  • Creating engineering drawings to support project communication and implementation;
  • Collecting and analyzing environmental data independently;
  • Supervising project teams during field activities, managing contracts, and supporting project management tasks;
  • Designing test procedures based on product specifications;
  • Reviewing technical reports and providing quality control and recommendations;
  • Supporting the growth of the environmental practice in Eastern Canada;
  • Interacting with clients, contractors, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Science or Engineering; P.Eng. or P.Geo. designation is an asset;
  • At least 8 years of experience in environmental consulting, including ESAs and remediation projects;
  • Knowledge of provincial and federal environmental regulations;
  • Experience with Federal frameworks or FCSAP process is a plus;
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle;
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and travel as needed;
  • Excellent communication, mentoring, and technical writing skills;
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset;
  • Attention to detail, analytical and synthesizing skills;
  • Willingness to work across Atlantic Canada and outside region occasionally;
  • Site Professional status in Atlantic Canada is an asset.
