We are SLR Consulting (Canada), a team of 550+ advisory, environmental, engineering, and regulatory professionals across 18 offices in Canada. We deliver environmental and sustainability services through the integration of advisory and over 30 technical disciplines to address complex challenges around sustainability, making it happen.

As our new Senior Environmental Project Manager, you will play a key role on our Land Quality and Remediation team in the Greater Toronto Area.

This role involves full project management for programs related to assessment, monitoring, management, and remediation of contaminated sites and excess soil management. You will work closely with clients, maintain satisfaction, build long-term relationships, and help grow our portfolio, with support from senior staff.

You will be involved in all project phases including proposals, work plans, project execution, budgeting, client communication, data analysis, reviews, and reporting. The role is primarily office-based with opportunities for fieldwork, mentoring junior staff, and supporting project needs.

Specifically, You Will

  1. Delegate and oversee project tasks, managing small technical groups and programs, including all facets of project delivery
  2. Communicate with clients to ensure high satisfaction
  3. Mentor junior and intermediate staff in project management, fieldwork, and task management, while being mentored by senior professionals
  4. Lead health and safety initiatives through positive communication
  5. Participate in contaminated site projects, including Phase I and II ESAs, remediation, and excess soil management during design and construction
  6. Oversee field programs involving sampling and monitoring of soil, groundwater, surface water, vapour, and remediation systems, including report preparation

Filing RSCs and Notices on the Excess Soil Registry

  1. Plan, report, and track schedules and budgets as part of financial management

Qualifications / Education / Memberships

  • Degree or technical diploma in environmental science, engineering, geology, hydrogeology, or related field
  • Ideally 10+ years of experience in contaminated site work, including assessments, soil and groundwater sampling, and remediation
  • Experience in land development, infrastructure, or construction management is a plus
  • Experience with O. Reg. 406 / 19 and project filings is advantageous
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of health & safety requirements for oil and gas, construction, and contaminated sites
  • Ability to work independently or in teams, including remote locations
  • Professional status or eligibility (P.Eng., P.Geo., C.E.T.) preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for occasional site travel
