Job Description

This role can be based in either British Columbia or Alberta.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will manage the delivery of various BC contaminated sites projects within the Environmental Services Division. You will oversee projects from start to finish, ensuring safe and efficient operations with a strong client focus. Your responsibilities include meeting schedule, contract specifications, timelines, and budgets, contributing to the company's growth. Collaboration and adherence to FLINT's core values and ethical standards are essential.

What would you be doing?

  1. Provide strategic planning within larger projects to align with organizational goals, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  2. Make critical project decisions and prepare essential documents, including work plans, bidding documents, RFPs, and procurement.
  3. Control, forecast, and monitor all project costs, ensuring site progress aligns with plans while managing project interfaces and subcontractors.
  4. Identify and manage project risks effectively by maintaining a comprehensive risk register and incorporating technical input into documentation.
  5. Establish and manage a system for recording, tracking, and progressing project documentation using project management software, liaising with government and regulatory contacts for submissions.
  6. Support environmental and regulatory risk analysis for new business opportunities, maintain vendor relationships, participate in training and meetings, implement safety programs, and complete administrative duties such as claims and invoices.

Qualifications

  3. Technical Diploma or University Degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field, with eligibility for or possession of a professional designation (e.g., P.Ag, RP.Bio, P.Eng, P.Geo).
  4. Strong business and financial acumen to manage project budgets and resources.
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration and relationship building with stakeholders.
  6. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence decision-makers and adapt to priorities.
  7. Proactive problem-solving approach, strong initiative, proficiency in MS Office, and ability to foster teamwork and resolve conflicts.
