Job summary

Amico is seeking an Environmental PLAA Coordinator for the Ontario Line project in Toronto. You will manage environmental permits, licenses, and agreements, coordinating with regulators and the PLAA team.

You will track submissions, prepare reports, and ensure compliance across TRCA, DFO, MECP and related regimes, while liaising with Engineering and Construction stakeholders to mitigate permits impacts. You will work primarily in the office with occasional field assignments and collaborate with

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering or related field.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of professional experience.
  • Experience in procuring environmental permits and approvals on transit projects in Ontario.
  • Knowledge of federal and provincial environmental policies, procedures and legislation.
  • Ability to liaise with consultants, contractors and governmental authorities.
  • Experience in design/construction or major infrastructure projects.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD and SharePoint.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in high-paced environments.
  • Knowledge of regulatory permit and approval processes and related environmental approvals.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain relationships with governmental authorities and stakeholders.
  • Review project documents to identify permit and approval requirements.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings with the city and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with PLAA Manager to support environmental input and reviews.
  • Prepare, submit, and track environmental PLAA applications (TRCA VPR, DFO, MECP, etc.).
  • Track and notify regulatory bodies of environmental permit requirements.
  • Use PLAA Tracking System to monitor progress of PLAAs.
  • Coordinate input to permit tracker and repository.
  • Upload plans and records to registries as required by authorities.
  • Identify issues affecting PLAAs and report mitigation measures.
