WONDERING WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

Your role will require you to bring a high standard of scientific excellence to your daily work. These responsibilities will include :

  • Assessing the effects of water use on the aquatic environment via integration of hydrological and biological information.
  • Identifying measures to avoid or mitigate flow-related effects to the environment.
  • Developing technical reports to support environmental assessments and / or permitting related applications.
  • Working collaboratively to develop solutions to support water management challenges.

THE QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

  • Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., biology, hydrology, water resources engineering) with five years of technical experience; consulting experience is an asset
  • Experience with policy and legislation related to environmental flows (e.g., BC Water Sustainability Act, Alberta Water Act, Fisheries Act)
  • An understanding of the relationship between fish life history requirements and the hydrological regime
  • Experience applying environmental flow assessment methodologies (e.g., IFIM, IHA)
  • Effective technical writing skills and ability to produce high-quality reports and proposals.
  • R.P. Bio., P. Geo., or relevant professional designation an asset.
