Job summary

Government of Alberta is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect in Edmonton to provide strategic architectural leadership across government and health system initiatives. You will ensure alignment of IM/IT solutions with enterprise standards and guide projects toward reusable, future-ready architectures.

You will work with business areas, IT operations, management, partners and vendors to optimize investments while reducing risk and delivering architecturally sound solutions.

Qualifications

• University graduation in computer science or related discipline plus four years related experience.
• Equivalency: two-year diploma in computer technology or related discipline and six years related experience.
• Equivalency: one-year certificate and seven years related experience.
• Overall business knowledge of organization strategies, guidelines, policies, legislation and processes.
• In-depth knowledge of enterprise architecture, methods, tools and frameworks.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and container-based development.
• Understanding of all aspects of the software development life cycle.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure architectural alignment across projects, government, partners, and jurisdictions.
• Resolve architecture issues and monitor IM/IT solutions under development.
• Contribute to IM/IT planning and architecture teams and document key decisions.
• Define architecture deliverables across the SDLC and advise on methods and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise standards and communicate architectural risks.
• Lead emerging technology advisory and provide guidance to leadership.
