Position: Senior Engineering Manager, Institutional Staking Team

This role offers the chance to lead a talented team working on innovative products that are transforming the institutional staking landscape with a focus on sustainability and scalability.

Responsibilities:

• Build and manage engineering teams, guiding feature, service, and infrastructure development
• Mentor direct reports to impact the organization positively and support their career growth
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate vision into actionable quarterly roadmaps, breaking down complex projects
• Provide technical leadership, ensuring high-quality code, sound architecture, and efficient processes
• Work with talent acquisition to recruit exceptional engineers aligned with Coinbase culture
• Own and improve engineering processes to meet quality standards and SLAs

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years in software engineering
• At least 5 years in engineering management, including 2 years managing managers
• Deep understanding of high-quality code and engineering practices
• Ability to execute amid ambiguity and plan both long-term and short-term
• Experience with multi-tenant, distributed systems at scale
• Hands-on skills in coding, reviewing, incident management, and troubleshooting
• Passion for building an open financial system that unites the world

Compensation and Benefits:

Target annual salary: $260,100 CAD, plus bonus, equity, and benefits including medical, dental, and vision.
