Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Water Engineer to join our growing Water Sector team in Toronto. In this role, you'll collaborate with a talented and creative team and gain exposure to a variety of projects across the Greater Toronto Area and Southwestern Ontario.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • Manage stormwater management projects, including Master Plans, Municipal Class Environmental Assessments, Functional Servicing Studies, and detailed designs for both private and public sector clients.
  • Conduct watershed and sub-watershed management planning, integrating ecology, hydrogeology, fluvial geomorphology, and other disciplines to identify opportunities and constraints.
  • Perform watershed and local-scale hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
  • Design, plan, and analyze stormwater management infrastructure.
  • Carry out hydraulic analysis and design of channels, culverts, sewers, etc.
  • Perform civil design of stormwater management facilities, natural channel corridors, and channels.
  • Conduct site-scale and feature-based water balance analyses.
  • Design, construct, and monitor Low Impact Development stormwater infrastructure.
  • Prepare design drawings and specifications for stormwater infrastructure.
  • Manage multidisciplinary project teams, including sub-consultants.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor team members on stormwater infrastructure facets.
  • Oversee financial aspects of projects, including budgets, resource management, change orders, and client invoicing.
  • Participate in business development, maintain client relationships, and pursue strategic opportunities.
  • Lead proposal efforts, prepare budgets and schedules, and liaise with clients.
  • Collaborate with other Project Managers to identify staffing and training needs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with municipal/approval agencies, developers, and landowners.
  • Ensure consistency and quality assurance in all deliverables and manage quality control.
  • Attend industry conferences and events.
  • Participate in company-wide quality initiatives and improvements.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDING EDUCATION AND/OR JOB EXPERIENCE) :
  • Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation from PEO.
  • 15 years of experience in stormwater management for land development or municipal projects, with at least 5 years in project management.
  • Strong technical expertise and knowledge of industry standards.
  • Experience managing diverse projects of varying complexities.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Proven leadership and motivation skills within technical teams.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and negotiation skills.
  • Client-focused with a drive to deliver optimal solutions.
  • Innovative mindset committed to creating better solutions.
  • High integrity, ethical, fair, and sustainable approach.
  • Experience working collaboratively in diverse and inclusive teams.
