You will be required to work on site as the job and work demands. Occasional remote work is possible so long as our lab customers are being supported and you meet Wind River’s in‑office requirements (currently 3 full days per week, although this could change). In rare instances you will be asked to provide some weekend and after‑hours support to manage high priority alerts, release support, as well as critical and planned outages.

The Lab Operations (LabOps) team provides internal support for Wind River’s engineering, development, sales, and support teams. We manage reliable labs, cloud environments, networks, systems, and embedded devices that enable our engineers to develop and test software globally, ensuring 24/7 accessibility.
LabOps supports a wide range of systems—from embedded boards to large cloud platforms—and is responsible for maintaining lab infrastructure to ensure reliable operation for engineers and automated test systems.
This Ottawa‑based position focuses primarily on building, supporting, and managing cloud lab environments, with additional responsibilities involving Linux, VxWorks, Helix Hypervisor, servers, and embedded systems.
Typical tasks include setup and configuration (racking, cabling, RAC/ BMC/ iLO/ firmware/ BIOS updates), inventory management through NetBox, and other tools; plus, network diagramming of systems and all connections.
The role also involves managing remote access for engineering teams, configureing and installing embedded system boards and configuring network boot environments (e.g., DHCP, tftpd‑hpa, PXE, gPXE, UEFI, U‑Boot, and VxWorks boot loaders). You would additionally provide remote support to the labs in India, California and
other engineering sites.
Success in this position requires strong debugging skills, creativity, collaboration, and a continual drive to learn and improve. The work is physically active—you should be comfortable unboxing, lifting, and installing servers and lab infrastructure as required.

This role is compensation range is between $97,800 to $122,200 CAD plus annual incentive plan bonus. Compensation is determined through interviews and a review of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities of the applicant, and equity with other team members.
