Senior Engineer / Scientist, Nuclear and Mechanical

Position: Senior Engineer/Scientist, Nuclear and Mechanical

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time

Location: 393 University Avenue, Toronto

Department: Design and Engineering Services

Reports to: Manager, Engineering Programs

Hours per week: 37.5

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop conceptual and detailed equipment designs within structured processes.
  • Mentor and oversee junior engineering staff.
  • Perform mechanical analysis and reactor core design tasks.
  • Coordinate with construction, procurement, and utility stakeholders throughout project lifecycle.
  • Assess client problems and recommend solutions.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Stay updated with industry developments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or higher in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering; P.Eng. designation pursued or attained.
  • 8+ years relevant experience in mechanical or nuclear engineering activities.
  • Experience with piping and process systems design, including specifications and drawings.
  • Knowledge of nuclear safety, licensing, and relevant codes (CSA N285, ASME, etc.).
  • Familiarity with piping analysis software (CAESAR II, AutoPipe, PipeStress).
  • Experience with nuclear QA standards (N299, CSA N286).
  • Effective project management and time management skills.
  • Ability to interface effectively with clients and team members.
