Job summary

AspiringIT is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Oshawa, ON, for a leading nuclear engineering services client supporting Ontario's CANDU fleet. The role is hybrid and full-time/contract.

You will lead electrical design for station power systems, run power system studies, specify components, and support field activities and commissioning. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with utility clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 6+ years of experience, ideally in nuclear or power generation.
• CANDU design and engineering change experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of CSA N286, CSA N290.5, CSA C22.1 and IEEE standards.

• Lead electrical design and engineering change packages for station power systems (Class I–IV, MV/LV distribution, motors, transformers)
• Run power system studies: load flow, short circuit, transients, relay protection and coordination
• Specify and select electrical components; support obsolescence and replacement projects
