About this team

In this role, you will leverage your extensive experience in Python and AWS to design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable service APIs that form the backbone of our Guest App. As a Senior Engineer II, you will play a key role in shaping the architecture and implementation of our backend services, ensuring they are secure, high-performing, and capable of handling our growing user base. You will work closely with a team of talented engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver solutions that drive the success of our products.

Your deep understanding of API design and cloud infrastructure will allow you to optimize our services for performance and scalability. You will be expected to mentor junior engineers, contribute to the technical roadmap, and advocate for best practices in API development and cloud deployment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about building reliable, scalable, and maintainable services.

A day in the life

  • Designs and develops applications with an eye towards simplicity, reliability, scalability, extensibility, performance, and reusability.
  • Responsible for story preparation, development of code, writing automated unit and integration tests, getting sign-off from manager, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of code.
  • Design, implement, and launch highly visible features for our retail platform using Test / Behaviour Driven Development practices and support the operations of the product in production.
  • Continuously grow skills and value through pair programming and code reviews.
  • Practice relentless automation, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and DevOps.
  • Works collaboratively with technical and business team members to develop and maintain business solutions following Agile development principles and practices.
  • Flexible to be available on call as per project need.

Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of RESTful APIs using Python.
  • Strong working experience in any cloud like AWS / Azure / Google.
  • Total professional experience of 5 to 7 years.
  • Minimum relevant experience of 5 years (recent).
  • Experience in Continuous integration tools like Jenkins / Bamboo.
  • Knowledge in Code Quality tools / frameworks like Sonar.
  • Strong knowledge of Automated Testing : Unit Testing, Integration Testing & Contract Testing.
  • On-call support experience with PagerDuty, Service Now is an asset.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring tools like New Relic is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Splunk is an asset.
  • Experience working with Lean and Extreme Programming (XP) is an asset.

Compensation and Benefits Package

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $123,500 - $169,840 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
