We are seeking an experienced, accomplished, and self-motivated Group Leader to work in the Water & Wastewater group based out of our Barrie office. This position will develop and lead a team of Project Managers and technical support staff, overseeing the planning, design, and completion of infrastructure projects involving water supply, treatment, pumping, storage, and wastewater pumping, treatment, and disposal.

The Senior Engineer, Group Leader will also serve as Project Manager and support multiple projects. The ideal candidate will be a progressive, collaborative, and energetic professional engineer with at least 8 years of consulting experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Communicate regularly with the Senior Manager to provide updates on actions and strategies to achieve group goals and targets.
2. Develop and execute quarterly business plans, set goals and targets for the group to expand services and market areas.
3. Collaborate with other Group Leaders on resource sharing, technical support, and business development activities.
4. Assist Project Managers in establishing and tracking budgets and schedules, and maintaining staff utilization and profitability targets.
5. Manage, lead, train, mentor, and motivate all group members.
6. Manage and complete projects as a Senior Engineer, including budget, schedule, resource management, billings, and client liaison.
7. Lead business development efforts to raise the profile of the department and company.
8. Identify project opportunities, prepare work plans, and proposals to acquire new work.

Key Position Requirements

• P.Eng. in Ontario
• Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience, preferably in consulting
• Technical leadership in relevant sector
• Proven team management abilities
• Business development desire and experience
• Understanding of business metrics and policies
• Strong commitment and technical skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
• Proficiency with relevant design software and Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
