About the Job:
Design and optimize cutting-edge coded-modulation schemes and FEC codes for next-generation optical modems.
Collaborate closely with ASIC designers to ensure seamless compatibility and integration throughout the design process.
Develop comprehensive technical documentation and actively participate in design reviews to maintain high-quality standards.
Work collaboratively with the team to resolve technical and non-technical challenges, ensuring smooth progress across the development cycle.
About the ideal candidate:
Holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
Brings 5+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Possesses a strong background in digital communication theory and information theory.
Has a solid foundation in channel coding, coded-modulation schemes, and constellation shaping.
Familiar with modern FEC families, including LDPC codes, Polar codes, and product-like codes with algebraic component codes (e.g., Staircase codes, Zipper codes, and OFEC).
Proficient in programming with C++ and Python.
Knowledge of optical communication is an asset.
Experience or knowledge in Machine Learning is an asset.
