Job description

Job Title: Senior Engineer – Electrical IPMS

Location: Halifax, NS

Salary: $85,206 – $106,389

What you’ll be doing:

  • Take ownership of the electrical systems, gathering critical information to assist in the development and enhancement of software solutions
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to design, build, and maintain electrical management software systems, leveraging your background in IPMS (Integrated Platform Management Systems) and commercial management software
  • Support the creation of technical documentation, including data packs and software development processes, ensuring clarity and compliance with industry standards
  • Apply project management techniques (such as Earned Value (EV), Cost Performance Index (CPI), Schedule Performance Index (SPI), and Risk Management) to deliver on time and within budget

Your skills and experiences:

  • A solid understanding of shipbuilding systems, processes, and technologies, with proven success in a related environment
  • Knowledge of IPMS commercial management software and SCADA-based software
  • A degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or an equivalent qualification
  • P.Eng or EIT designation or actively working towards it

The Electrical team:

As an Electrical Engineer, you will be joining the River Class Destroyer project in Halifax, where you will play a critical role within a dynamic and collaborative team. You will be a part of the wider team of 18 professionals based in Scotstoun, working alongside highly skilled engineers and specialists dedicated to the successful delivery of the project. This diverse team will provide you with opportunities to collaborate across multiple disciplines and gain valuable experience in the shipbuilding and marine industry. You will work in a supportive and engaging environment where innovation and teamwork are at the forefront of everything we do. This is a senior-level position that involves working closely with both internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, contractors, and engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in shipbuilding, expertise in commercial management software, and a solid understanding of SCADA-based software and the software development process.
