We seek a Senior Automation and Controls Engineer to design and implement sustainable automation projects within our engineering team.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply extensive knowledge and lead the design and delivery of capital projects in an industrial environment. Responsibilities include supporting testing, commissioning, and providing technical support to operations and maintenance teams as needed.
Reporting to the Superintendent of Automation, Instrumentation, and Control Systems, you will:
Develop and maintain PLC and DCS programming, especially with Allen Bradley Control Logix, PLC5, and Foxboro systems.
Design automation systems, including control philosophies and application strategies.
Configure operator interfaces (HMIs) and design user-friendly control systems.
Integrate network protocols (DeviceNet, HART, TCP/IP) effectively within systems.
Translate process flow diagrams, block flow diagrams, and P&ID's into detailed control narratives and documentation.
Read and interpret electrical diagrams, wiring schematics, and instrumentation documentation.
Lead and manage capital projects, including feasibility studies, scope, and engineering design.
Troubleshoot, upgrade, and optimize automation systems and equipment using problem-solving skills and technical expertise.
What you’ll bring

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering — Automation, Electrical, Electronics, Control, or Chemical.
P.Eng. designation.
Solid experience in automation.
Preferably experience with engineering firms, automation solutions providers, or plant engineering teams.
Experience working on industrial automation projects.
