The mandate of the Rail Construction Program is to transform, develop, grow, and sustain Ottawa’s Light Rail Transit Systems as a component of the City of Ottawa’s overall transportation and mobility strategy. The Senior Engineer will help to manage the City of Ottawa’s oversight of the Stage 2 Light Rail Transit (LRT) multimillion dollar P3 project.
The Senior Engineer will be responsible for managing the delivery of the civil & guideway infrastructures for Confederation Line East and West and the Trillium Line South extensions. Responsibilities include:
•Undertaking design and review process, ensuring designs are in accordance with applicable Codes, Standards and Project Agreement requirements
•Facilitating design-review process with multi-discipline internal and external subject matter experts and other stakeholders
•Managing and liaising with City and external asset owners for NMI (New Municipal Infrastructures) and 3rd party new infrastructures documentation and hand-over review process
•Managing City and 3rd party asset owners (AMS, MTO, NCC, etc.) design-review comments and coordinating the proponent for comment resolution process
•Managing issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery
•Managing and assisting in reviewing non-compliance reports (NCR) with internal and external subject matter experts
•Assisting in public consultations regarding civil & guideway concerns
•Other duties as assigned
Completion of 4 year degree in Engineering or Applied Science
Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in the planning, design and construction of municipal infrastructure, including a minimum of 5 years of project management experience
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
