Job summary

TC Energy, based in Calgary, is seeking an experienced communications professional to lead strategic planning and execution for capital projects and operations. You will partner with leaders across the organization to deliver clear messaging and proactive media relations.

The role emphasizes influencing outcomes, providing trusted communications counsel, and supporting communities, governments and Indigenous stakeholders across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, political science or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic communications, project communications, public affairs or a related field.
• Navigate complex regulatory, political and multi-stakeholder environments and translate insights into clear, strategic project communications.
• Strong project management skills with workbacks, approvals, dependencies and disciplined execution.
• Excellent writing and editing skills for internal and external audiences.
• Strong issues management judgment and proactive risk responses.
• Proven ability to collaborate with senior leaders in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic communications planning and execution for capital projects and operational activities.
• Drive improvements in project communications and align with corporate priorities.
• Translate complex topics into clear communications with business leaders.
• Provide communications counsel and issues management by monitoring environment.
• Support executives with external speaking opportunities.
• Contribute to internal business communications to engage the team.
• Create messaging and materials to engage communities, Indigenous groups, government and stakeholders.
• Develop scalable communications processes, templates and tools.
