Job summary

MANNARINO Systems & Software Inc. in Montreal is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer. You will contribute to real-time C++ development for autonomous drone and robotics platforms, working with Linux and ROS2 in a hybrid office setting.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, convert Python tools to C++, perform tests in simulated and field environments, and participate in Agile ceremonies. Proficiency in French is required.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in C++ development, particularly in real-time systems.
• Strong knowledge of Linux environments.
• Experience developing and debugging embedded systems.
• Good knowledge of Python and its ecosystem.
• Understanding of the challenges associated with deploying Artificial Intelligence on robotic platforms.
• Experience with ROS2 or a comparable robotics framework.
• Excellent communication skills in French, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work effectively within an Agile development environment.

Career Opportunity and Primary Roles / Responsibilities

The Embedded Systems Engineering team contributes to the development, testing, and delivery of software deployed on or communicating with embedded systems. In this role, you will work alongside multidisciplinary teams developing autonomous multi-agent drone systems operating across aerial, surface, and underwater platforms.

These technologies are used to help protect critical infrastructure and support Canadian territorial security, offering an opportunity to contribute directly to mission-critical autonomous systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Eligibility requirement: Applicants must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents of Canada and legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Knowledge of performance optimization and real-time software architectures.

Miscellaneous Requirements

• The work model is hybrid (at least 3 days at the office in Montreal).
• Professional proficiency in spoken and written French is mandatory.
• Occasional travel may be required based on project needs.
