MANNARINO Systems & Software Inc. is seeking an Aerospace / Aviation Systems Engineer to support development, integration, verification, and certification of safety-critical aircraft systems. Experience with ARP/DO- guidance and cross-functional collaboration is highly valued.

The role involves requirements development, architecture definition, system integration, verification, and support for ground or flight tests. English proficiency is essential; French is an asset.

Qualifications

• B.S. in aerospace, electrical, electronics, mechanical, software, or systems engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years in aerospace or aviation systems engineering, system integration, requirements engineering, verification, validation, or test engineering.
• Experience with aircraft systems development and certification guidance such as ARP4754A/B, ARP4761/ARP4761A, DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160, DO-297, or equivalent processes.
• Experience with scripting, automation, data analysis, or test development using Python, MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, or equivalent.

Career Opportunity and Primary Roles / Responsibilities

We are currently seeking an Aerospace / Aviation Systems Engineer to support the development, integration, verification, and certification of safety-critical aircraft systems. Actual responsibilities will depend on the candidate’s background, project assignment, and customer needs. The role may include requirements development and validation, architecture and interface definition, system integration, verification planning and execution, troubleshooting, technical documentation, and support to design reviews, certification activities, and ground or flight test campaigns.

Experience with the following activities is highly recommended:

• Experience with highly integrated, safety-critical aerospace or aviation systems, preferably on aircraft development, modification, certification, or integration programs.
• Develop, review, validate, and manage system, subsystem, interface, derived, and safety-related requirements that are clear, complete, feasible, verifiable, and traceable.
• Support system architecture definition, functional allocation, interface control, and integration for one or more aircraft system domains, which may include avionics, communications, navigation, surveillance, flight controls, displays, air data, mission systems, utilities, or other aircraft-level systems.
• Contribute to validation and verification strategies, including test planning, requirement-based verification, test procedure development, automated test scripting, test execution, and test report preparation.
• Support integration and test activities in lab, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, aircraft ground test, and/or flight test environments.
• Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, data analysis, and issue resolution; recommend design, requirement, interface, or process changes for approval.
• Maintain traceability between stakeholder needs, aircraft/system requirements, architecture, interfaces, safety assessments, verification evidence, and compliance artifacts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers, suppliers, certification specialists, and test organizations to support design reviews, technical reviews, compliance reviews, and integration readiness.
• Track and communicate integration, verification, and issue-resolution progress, including risks, dependencies, action items, and schedule impacts.

Required Competencies

• B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Software, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline with relevant aerospace or aviation systems experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in aerospace or aviation systems engineering, system integration, requirements engineering, verification, validation, or test engineering.
• Experience with aircraft systems development and certification guidance such as ARP4754A/B, ARP4761/ARP4761A, DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160, DO-297, or equivalent customer and regulatory processes.
• Experience with scripting, automation, data analysis, or test development using tools/languages such as Python, MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, or equivalent.
• Experience with requirements management, traceability, issue tracking, or lifecycle tools such as DOORS, Polarion, Jama, Reqtify, JIRA, or equivalent.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Familiarity with at least one aircraft system domain, such as avionics, CNS/ATM, communications, navigation, surveillance, displays, air data, flight controls, mission systems, utilities, or integrated modular avionics; broader multi-domain experience is considered an asset.

Miscellaneous Requirements

• Experience with aircraft or UAM/eVTOL development, modification, integration, certification, or operational support programs.
• Experience with one or more aircraft communication, navigation, surveillance, flight control, display, air data, integrated modular avionics, or related aircraft systems.
• Experience with Agile, V-model, model-based systems engineering, simulation-based development, or other structured engineering lifecycle approaches.
• Experience supporting system safety, functional hazard assessment, failure condition classification, requirements allocation, or certification compliance activities.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English; French communication skills are considered an asset.
• Occasional travel may be required to customer, supplier, test, or integration sites, usually within North America.

Knowledge of English is required to communicate and work with customers outside the province of Quebec. / La connaissance de l'anglais est requise pour communiquer et travailler avec nos clients situés à l'extérieur de la province de Québec.
