Lumentum is looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to play a leading role in the development of software for a new generation of leading-edge LiDAR products.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to define new product requirements.
  • Document and review requirements and designs with peers and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain embedded software for optical communications products.
  • Review documents and execute designer test cases.
  • Provide support throughout the software and product verification cycle.
  • Troubleshoot low-level software issues.
  • Participate in code inspections.
  • Provide guidance to and share technical expertise with more junior members of the software team.

What Were Looking For

Education :

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.

Qualifications :

  • 4 years of embedded C / C++ development experience.
  • Solid understanding of multi-threaded software design.
  • Team player with strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
  • Experience with source code control systems (Git, Subversion).

Assets :

  • Knowledge of optical telecommunications (DWDM, Optical Amplifiers, ROADMs).
  • Experience with Linux, SYSBIOS, FreeRTOS, or other embedded OS development.
  • Understanding of hardware devices such as ADCs, DACs, Clocks, UARTs, FPGAs.
  • Low-level software development skills (Endianness, Bit Masking, Mutual Exclusion).
  • Experience interfacing with embedded devices via I2C, SPI, dual port RAM, RS-232.
  • Cross compiling and remote debugging experience.
  • JTAG debugging skills.
  • Ability to interpret schematics to understand electronic device connections.
