Job summary

BlackBerry QNX is seeking a hands-on software engineer to advance systems software across C, C++, Python, and Rust for the QNX RTOS. You will integrate open-source projects, optimize performance on embedded hardware, and port/build toolchains while collaborating with ecosystems in robotics and AI.

You will work on diverse domains from graphics to networking, and contribute to industry demonstrations and customer engagements, aligning with the QNX Everywhere initiative.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in C and C++ (C++14/17/20) and Python.
• Experience with Linux and/or QNX development environments.
• Solid understanding of operating system internals and POSIX APIs (pthreads, IPC, memory management, networking).

Responsibilities

• Develop software across a broad range of technologies for the QNX RTOS (C, C++, Python, Rust).
• Integrate open-source projects with core QNX technologies (graphics, networking, USB, audio, sensors, multimedia).
• Develop OS-specific abstraction layers and porting libraries; adapt build systems (CMake, Meson, Bazel, Cargo, GN/Ninja, BitBake).
• Perform low-level profiling, memory footprint reduction, latency tuning, and performance optimization on embedded target hardware.
• Develop, integrate, test, and maintain technology demonstrations showcasing QNX capabilities to customers and partners.
