Qualifications

Currently, Mazzei Electric Ltd. is hiring a Senior Project Manager based in Victoria, BC. Reporting to the Director of Operations and Vancouver Island Construction Manager, this role is vital in planning, coordinating, and executing projects from start to finish, ensuring optimal resource use and financial performance.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to industry and company safety standards, including proper safety equipment and procedures.
  • Support and promote Mazzei Electric’s core values: Safety, Innovation, Relationships, and Trust.
  • Engage in business development to expand market share.
  • Develop and coordinate project schedules, resource plans, procurement, commissioning, tracking, and risk mitigation.
  • Control costs and maximize productivity through best practices.
  • Manage change requests and maintain client satisfaction.
  • Participate in progress meetings and oversee contracts and budgets with site teams.
  • Provide technical guidance to project staff.
  • Manage project finances through forecasting.
  • Obtain necessary permits and licenses.
  • Oversee pre-construction meetings and resource planning within budget.
  • Collaborate with design and prefabrication teams.
  • Set goals, coach, and develop team members.
  • Plan construction operations to meet deadlines.
  • Evaluate progress and prepare reports.
  • Estimate change orders and manage project closeout.
  • Conduct post-project reviews for continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain industry relationships.
  • Lead foreperson meetings and perform additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Electrical Journeyperson certification and/or project management experience in electrical projects.
  • At least 8 years of experience managing electrical projects.
  • Proficiency in project administration tasks like RFIs, submittals, change orders, and billing.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and practices.
  • Excellent time management, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Proficient in industry-specific software (Bluebeam, SiteDocs, Accubid) and Microsoft Office.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Leadership, organizational, decision-making, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Understanding of financial processes, contracts, and budgets.

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from approximately $X,XXX to $X,XXX per year, plus a 20% bonus.
