AE COM is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Canadian Mine Infrastructure team. The role supports design, delivery, and optimization of electrical systems for surface and underground mining projects across Canada, including client liaison and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
8+ years of electrical engineering and design experience in heavy industry.
Registered as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia or eligible for BC registration.
Experience producing procurement packages, P&IDs, single-line diagrams, control network diagrams, and electrical location drawings.
Familiarity with the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and industry standards (CSA, ANSI, ISA, IEEE, NFPA, IECEx).
Experience using eTAP, PTW, and drafting tools like AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage electrical engineering tasks across all project phases.
Design and optimize electrical systems for mining and industrial projects including HV/LV distribution, substations, and charging infrastructure.
Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and functional descriptions for electrical and control systems.
Coordinate automation systems (PLCs, DCS, SCADA) with other teams.
Collaborate with clients to tailor engineering solutions and maintain alignment with goals.
Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements and drive project delivery on time and budget.
Mentor junior staff and support strategic market expansion in the mining sector.
