BBA is seeking a forward-thinking Senior Electrical Engineer to help lead our growing work in load electrification, distributed energy resources (DERs), and medium-voltage interconnections across Ontario. This role combines technical delivery, client engagement, and strategic growth—supporting electrification initiatives in sectors such as transportation, commercial, industrial, and the rapidly expanding data center market.

This role also provides the opportunity to shape and grow a dedicated electrification and DERs team serving Ontario and neighboring regions across Canada and the United States.

Technical Leadership & Project Delivery
  • Lead delivery of load electrification, DER integration, and medium-voltage interconnection projects from feasibility through commissioning.
  • Oversee development of electrical design packages, including single-line diagrams, interconnection drawings, equipment layouts, and supporting studies.
  • Support utility interconnection processes through application preparation, technical coordination, and discussions with utilities and other stakeholders.
  • Design and specify medium-voltage distribution systems (e.g., switchgear, utility connection topology, MV substation, energy storage and on-site generation).
  • Conduct power system studies using industry-standard tools to support distribution and interconnection assessments.
Business Development & Client Engagement
  • Support growth of BBA’s electrification and DER portfolio by leveraging professional relationships and identifying new opportunities.
  • Lead and contribute to proposals, client presentations, and technical submissions.
  • Build trusted relationships with utilities, industrial clients, developers, and other market participants.
Development and Growth
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to strategic initiatives that advance BBA’s capabilities in electrification, DERs, and grid modernization.

  • Proven experience with medium-voltage (4.16 kV–44 kV) distribution systems.
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code and CSA C22.3.
  • Experience with electrification initiatives (industrial electrification, EV infrastructure, behind-the-meter energy storage, roof-top solar PV, etc.) and their impacts on distribution grids.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a client-facing, “seller-doer” consulting environment.
