Your future role on our team

To better support project and client development in the Sudbury area, you’ll work in our multidisciplinary office and will be part of a team of professionals committed to the success of our mandates. You’ll develop an in-depth understanding of industrial operational realities and will be able to fast-track your career.

Our Electrical team are actively involved in developing the region and in carrying out various projects in the mining and metals sector. By joining our team, your role as engineer and project leader will be to contribute to proposals, design engineering, technological choices and proposed solutions, from design to implementation. Additionally, you’ll carry out technical coordination and project management, as well as programming and commissioning.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in developing business relations and the quality of professional services
  • Participate or lead proposal preparation
  • Carry out electrical engineering projects for industrial clients
  • Implement work methods
  • Prepare, draft and produce study reports
  • Design power systems and give final approval for associated engineering documents
  • Participate in technical project management (design reviews, costs, schedules)
  • Share your technical knowledge with younger engineers and technicians on the team in order to prepare the next generation of technical professionals

Certifications and Job Requirements
  • University degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 15 years of relevant experience as an electrical engineer or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Practical experience in the industrial/mining sectors (design criteria, electrical distribution and infrastructure of underground and open-pit mines, protection and control (P&C), electrical arrangement, equipment specifications, etc.)
  • Onsite experience and focus on work safety
  • Experience in troubleshooting, commissioning and system installation
  • Professional Engineer license in Ontario or from another Canadian province
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Availability to occasionally travel to client locations as may be dictated by project needs
  • Driver’s licence
  • Asset: Experience in a consulting engineering environment
  • Asset: Experience estimating costs and preparing and presenting proposals
  • Asset: Experience in multidisciplinary design
