To meet our growth challenges, WSP is currently seekinga Senior Electrical Engineer – Energy Generationto join our teams located in any of our offices in Alberta, Ontario and Atlantic provinces.

As part of our dynamic and growing Process and Energy Electrical Group, this position will play a crucial role in the design and optimization of complex power generation projects across North America. This role involves close collaboration with clients and stakeholders to understand their engineering needs, ensuring successful project coordination and management. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise and consulting experience, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and safety and have the ability to lead and mentor junior engineers and designers.

What you can expect to do here:

• You will lead electrical engineering and design of power generation projects
• You will lead electrical engineering and design of renewable energy projects
• You will lead electrical engineering and design of power plant and switchyard electrical system upgrades
• You will lead electrical engineering and design of federal electrical system upgrades
• You will mentor and teach junior and mid engineers
• You will lead and manage project proposal and budget development

What you’ll bring to WSP:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution;
• Professional engineering license (P.Eng) required;
• Minimum of 15+ years of relevant post education experience in an electrical engineering capacity within the consulting environment;
• Strong experience designing power generation and/or substation projects, preferably within the engineering consulting environment required;
• CAD, Microsoft Office, and ETAP or SKM software experience;
• Ability to visit project sites as needed.
