AtkinsRéalisRail & Transit team in Canada looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their growing team in Toronto, ON. This position reports to the Power Supply and Distribution Engineering Manager in our Toronto Office.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer your primary role will be design, construction support and commissioning support for the medium voltage distribution and traction power system on rail transit projects.

Your role within the team

As a member of our Rail & Transit team, you will:

• Design, Construction and Commissioning of AC Electrical and DC Traction Power systems.
• Preparation of Specifications, Design Drawings and Documentation.
• Preparation of Test Procedures.
• Detailed design of equipment layouts, cable tray, conduits and ducts, wiring and cabling.
• Perform field reviews and inspections.
• Provide technical support for procurement, construction and T&C.
• Interface with the other discipline Designers and Engineers.

The Ideal Candidate

• In depth knowledge of AC or DC Railway electrification systems including knowledge of the other power systems.
• Knowledge of traction propulsion equipment and characteristics and vehicle performance.
• Knowledge of grounding, lightning protection and surge protection.
• Familiarity with various Power System software like PSSE, CDEGS, PSCAD.
• Valid Professional Engineer designation, registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with PEO.
• Has at least 15 years of project related experience.
• Knowledge relevant of Canadian and North American Codes and Standards.
• Has a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
