A growing biotech company is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer to help design the electronics behind next-generation medical devices. You'll work across power electronics, embedded systems, and safety-critical architecture, with real ownership from concept through compliance.
Own full lifecycle design of mixed power, embedded computing, and interconnect PCAs
Lead and participate in design reviews (safety, reliability, failure analysis)
Architect systems for medical safety and compliance per IEC 60601-1
Design power distribution, current limiting, regulation, fusing, and FET selection
Coordinate with firmware teams on electrical system implementation
Test designs at the PCA and system level, document results and architectural decisions
Mentor engineers across experience levels and collaborate cross-functionally
Bachelor's + 10 years, Master's + 8 years, or equivalent experience in electrical engineering
Proficiency in Altium Designer (or similar) for schematic capture and PCB layout
Strong background in power integrity, signal integrity, fault tolerance, and EMC
Experience with embedded systems, sensors, serial communication, analog/digital design
Track record bringing hardware to market, including compliance testing
Comfortable with DMM, oscilloscope, function generator, DC power supply
Familiarity with Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
Background in optics, robotics, or medical devices
Experience with rigid/flex PCA systems and dynamic cabling (clock spring, FFCs, slip rings)
Brushless DC motor system architecture
Expertise in fail-safe design and isolation diagrams
$140,000 to $170,000 annually, based on experience. Onsite role in Oakville, Ontario
