Job summary

Socket.dev in Oakville, Ontario, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to own the full lifecycle of electrical hardware for next-gen medical devices. You’ll drive power electronics, embedded computing, and safety-critical architecture with clear ownership from concept through compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's + 10 years, Master's + 8 years, or equivalent experience in electrical engineering.
  • Proficiency in Altium Designer (or similar) for schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Strong background in power integrity, signal integrity, fault tolerance, and EMC.
  • Experience with embedded systems, sensors, serial communication, analog/digital design.
  • Track record bringing hardware to market, including compliance testing.
  • Comfortable with DMM, oscilloscope, function generator, DC power supply.
  • Familiarity with GDP.

Senior Electrical Engineer

Biotech / Medical Devices | Full-Time | Onsite

A growing biotech company is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer to help design the electronics behind next-generation medical devices. You'll work across power electronics, embedded systems, and safety-critical architecture, with real ownership from concept through compliance.

What You'll Do
  • Own full lifecycle design of mixed power, embedded computing, and interconnect PCAs

  • Lead and participate in design reviews (safety, reliability, failure analysis)

  • Architect systems for medical safety and compliance per IEC 60601-1

  • Design power distribution, current limiting, regulation, fusing, and FET selection

Compensation & Location

$140,000 to $170,000 annually, based on experience. Onsite role in Oakville, Ontario
