Senior Electrical Engineer for our Municipal Water & Wastewater team in Edmonton. In this role, you’ll lead electrical design on projects, mentor junior staff, and contribute to business development.

What you can expect to do here:

  • Design low- and medium-voltage systems for industrial facilities (e.g., pump stations, water treatment plants).
  • Perform load calculations and equipment sizing using ETAP or EasyPower.
  • Develop electrical models and perform studies (e.g., power flow, arc flash, harmonics).
  • Prepare detailed design drawings and documentation (e.g., single-line diagrams, schematics, layouts).
  • Select and specify electrical equipment and protection systems.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and support construction and commissioning.
  • Lead internal reviews, ensure QA/QC, and support proposals and client engagement.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support project delivery.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • 10+ years of Electrical design experience in the municipal sector, with complimentary and related Instrumentation & Controls design experience.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering.
  • Current P.Eng. in Canada.
  • Proficiency in electrical design standards (CEC, IEEE, NFPA, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of power systems, instrumentation and controls, and communication protocols.
  • Proven project delivery, client service, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean abstract.
