The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of advanced BESS solutions. Your expertise in electrical engineering and lithium-ion battery technology will be instrumental in driving our projects to success.

The Role

• Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 per year
• 3 weeks paid vacation plus 1 week off between Christmas and New Year's

Responsibilities and Duties

• Lead the electrical design and development of BESS components and systems, including battery management systems (BMS), power conversion systems (PCS), and grid interconnection systems.
• Design detailed wiring diagrams, single line diagrams, wire harness diagrams, and site integration diagrams.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and software developers to integrate electrical systems into the overall BESS architecture.
• Play a strategic role in defining and implementing the overall electrical design strategy for projects.
• Lead the identification, evaluation, and onboarding of new suppliers to optimize product cost, function, and lead times.
• Drive creation and revision of FMEA, BOM, manufacturing and assembly drawings.
• Create SOPs, design review presentations, design journals and quality documentation.
• Provide leadership within the electrical engineering team, guiding and mentoring junior engineers and co-op students.
• Support overall architecture design decisions based on external client requirements.
• Electrical design and documentation to support UL product certification.

The Candidate

We’re looking for individuals with the following traits, skills, and experiences:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in the design and development of electrical systems, with a focus on BESS or lithium-ion battery applications.
• Expert proficiency in relevant design software for electrical design of battery systems, power electronics, and control systems.
• Demonstrated advanced understanding of lithium-ion battery technology, battery management systems (BMS), and power conversion systems (PCS).
• Demonstrated understanding of UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A.
