Job summary

Fluor Corporation in Calgary has an exciting contract opportunity for an Electrical Designer to join our EPC team. You will perform advanced electrical design calculations, support field engineering activities, and develop deliverables aligned with project requirements and client specs.

You will utilize 2D and 3D CAD systems, including Hexagon Smart Electrical/Review/3D, to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and ensure safe, compliant plant electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Requires a diploma in a technical discipline and extensive experience.
• Demonstrated ability to design electrical systems for industrial projects.
• Strong communication with stakeholders and teams is essential.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced electrical design calculations including sizing and voltage drop.
• Provide field engineering support during construction, commissioning and start-up.
• Develop and review electrical deliverables to meet project requirements.
• Use 2D/3D CAD to support design development and coordination.
• Create and review designs using Hexagon software platforms.
• Apply grounding, lighting, power distribution, wiring, and motor design best practices.
• Interpret design guides and standards across all project phases.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure constructability and operability.
