Northwest Aerospace Technologies (“NAT”), a Safran Company, is the only EASA DOA Certified aircraft interior reconfiguration group in the United States. Focusing on commercial and military aircraft, NAT provides top-tier services in design, engineering, quality, certification, and manufacturing for a range of Blue Chip customers.

The Senior Electrical Design Engineer is a technical expert with mastery in multi-discipline/multi-skillset engineering design and substantiation, understanding FAA and EASA certification processes, and industry standards.

Scope of Work:
  1. Act as a leader and technical resource within the Engineering group.
  2. Produce engineering outputs and mentor team members.
  3. Ensure quality of drawings and documentation.
  4. Assist Project Engineer in defining project structure and organization.
  5. Hold drawing and document approval authority.
  6. Resolve technical issues and make final decisions.
  7. Coordinate with Operations, Suppliers, and Customers.
  8. Contribute to NAT proposals, including SOW development, engineering estimates, and parts list.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support design and substantiation of electrical components in retrofit aircraft applications.
  2. Communicate with customers and team members; present technical content effectively.
  3. Develop proposals for electrical system installations.
  4. Break down SOW into work packages and allocate tasks.
  5. Ensure compliance with airworthiness requirements.
  6. Create engineering statements of work during project development.
  7. Ensure drawings and documents meet quality and certification standards.
  8. Develop engineering packages from concept to production.
  9. Conduct peer reviews of engineering drawings.
  10. Work with ODA UM's and EASA CVE's for compliance.

Qualifications include:

  • A four-year technical degree and at least ten years of relevant industry experience, or equivalent technical training plus experience.
  • At least five years on aerospace programs requiring FAA or EASA certification.
  • Experience in leading technical personnel for three or more years.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.

Skills include project and drawing management, troubleshooting, independent and team work, excellent communication, customer understanding, multitasking, attention to detail, and working under deadlines.

Working Conditions:

Primarily office-based with some travel, requiring fluency in English, computer use, and flexibility for irregular hours and deadlines.
