Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with biologists and pharmacologists to establish and execute in vitro and in vivo assays for compound evaluation.
• Utilize structure-activity relationship (SAR) data and computational chemistry tools to guide compound design.
• Manage external synthesis activities and collaborations with contract research organizations (CROs).
• Troubleshoot synthetic challenges and develop innovative solutions to complex chemical problems.
• Characterize synthesized compounds using spectroscopic techniques (NMR, MS) and analytical methods (HPLC).
• Contribute to the intellectual property strategy through patent filings and scientific publications.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in medicinal chemistry, synthetic methodologies, and drug discovery trends.
• Mentor junior chemists and contribute to a collaborative and high-performing research team.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a closely related field.
