Job summary

Agilus by Synergie in Canada is seeking a Senior Drilling and Completions Engineer to plan, design, execute and optimise drilling, completions and well intervention programs across heavy oil and Clearwater assets. You will lead data analytics initiatives, apply AI tools, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve well performance, reduce costs and support asset growth.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent with professional designation (P.Eng., C.E.T. or P.Tech).
  • 7–12 years of drilling and completions engineering experience in Canada.
  • Experience with cold multi-lateral open-hole drilling programs.
  • Strong technical drilling analysis, optimisation and lookback capability.
  • Second Line Supervisor Well Control certification and safety focus.
  • Familiar with Alberta/Saskatchewan regulatory practices and requirements.
  • Proficient in engineering and business analytics tools including Power BI and MS 365.
  • Excellent communication, commercial awareness and problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design and execute drilling, completion and well intervention programs.
  • Optimise well designs for performance, capital efficiency and cost per metre.
  • Prepare AFEs, cost estimates and technical inputs for capital planning.
  • Monitor performance against budget and schedule; drive improvements.
  • Conduct post-well reviews and implement lessons learned.
  • Apply data analytics and AI tools to identify optimisation opportunities.
  • Coordinate service providers and vendors through project execution.
  • Collaborate across engineering, operations, geoscience and land teams.

Drilling Engineer | Drive Technical Innovation, Cost Optimisation & Multi-Lateral Well Performance in a Growing Canadian ProducerAgilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Senior Drilling and Completions Engineer in the Oil & Gas Exploration & Production in . Join a growing upstream oil and gas company where you'll play a key role in planning, designing, executing, and optimising drilling, completions, and well intervention programs across heavy oil and Clearwater assets. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you'll combine technical engineering expertise, data analytics, operational execution, and commercial stewardship to improve well performance, reduce costs, and support long-term asset growth.

  • Total rewards:$125000.00 - $150000.00 annually
  • Earn a competitive base salary of $125,000-$150,000 based on experience

A typical day
  • Plan, design and execute drilling, completion and well intervention programs

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, geoscience and land teams to maximise asset value
Successful candidates will have
  • Hold an Engineering Degree or Diploma with P.Eng., C.E.T. or P.Tech designation
  • Bring 7-12 years of drilling and completions engineering experience in Canada
  • Demonstrate experience with cold multi-lateral open-hole drilling programs
  • Possess strong technical drilling analysis, optimisation and lookback experience
  • Maintain a valid Second Line Supervisor Well Control certification
  • Understand Alberta and Saskatchewan regulatory requirements and industry practices
  • Demonstrate proficiency with engineering and business analytics software including Power BI and Microsoft 365
  • Exhibit strong communication, commercial awareness, problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety
