Job description

Position Purpose: Manages the design, implementation, and communication of business continuance and disaster recovery plans and processes that ensure the security and integrity of company data, databases, information systems, and technology. Conducts risk analysis to identify critical operations and systems that are core to continued business operations in the event of a disruption. Monitors and tests the plans and backup systems. Manages the contracts with required vendors for off-site and other resources required for business continuity and recovery. Develops and deploys training, documentation, and communication of disaster procedures to the organization. Develops service level recovery standards and agreements with vendors.

  • Plans and maintains a comprehensive IT disaster recovery (DR) program
  • Plans, designs, implements, and organizes testing of DR strategies
  • Conducts Business Impact Analysis (BIA) exercises to ensure all DR plans are kept in line with changing business requirements
  • Completes IT DR recovery procedures and work with technical teams to co-create IT DR recovery strategies, architectures and procedures
  • Conducts IT DR awareness sessions. Identify and make recommendations for improvement of existing processes and procedures
  • Manages the IT DR calendar, incorporating the activities designed to monitor the effectiveness of the IT DR framework
  • Collaborates with business unit staff members and external business partners for the purpose of planning, directing, controlling, and maintaining an effective testing plan
  • Provides leadership in assessing, and communicating recovery environment requirements
  • Manages risk mitigation processes, and facilitate resource contingency planning sessions with business teams
  • Leads discussions with vendors and suppliers. Develop, manage, execute contracts and agreements with vendors and suppliers
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Strong proficiency in virtualization, networking, storage, and cloud technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Fusion Risk Manager, Cutover, Gremlin Chaos Testing, Servicenow, AWS Resiliency Hub, Avalanche TTX.
  • Expertise in creating and testing disaster recovery plans for mission-critical systems and applications.
  • Certification in disaster recovery or business continuity (e.g., Certified Disaster Recovery Engineer (CDRE), Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), ITIL, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Education/Experience: A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science) and Requires 4 – 6 years of related experience.

Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position.

Experience with traditional infrastructure and cloud technologies and architecture. required.
Experience with resilient systems design principals. required.
Knowledge of development toolset to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software required.
Experience with administration, configuration, implementation of SaaS systems or software in the healthcare domain required.

Technical Skills:

  • One or more of the following skills are desired.
  • Experience with Business Continuity Planning; Disaster Recovery
  • Experience with Other: Experience analyzing systems using Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Experience with Other: Experience with Business Impact Analysis (BIA)
  • Knowledge of .NET Framework; C++; Java (Programming Language); Python (Programming Language)
  • Expertise with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Experience with backup technologies (e.g., NetBackup, CommVault, Veeam,Zerto).
  • Familiarity with cloud disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Azure, AWS).
  • Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and enterprise storage solutions.

  • ISO 22301 Certified Business Continuity Manager (CBCM) required
Pay Range: $100,900.00 - $186,800.00 per year

Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives. Benefits may be subject to program eligibility.
